Marcfirst Receives $10,000 Grant from Bayer Fund

MARCFIRST RECEIVES $10,000 GRANT FROM BAYER FUND

Donation to help implement STEM walls for Pediatric Therapy Services

NORMAL, Ill. – Marcfirst received a grant for $10,000 from Bayer Fund, a philanthropic arm of Bayer in the U.S., which has been used to install STEM walls for children at The Gregg Chadwick Marcfirst Pediatric Therapy Center.

"We at Marcfirst are overjoyed from receiving this $10,000 grant from Bayer Fund," says Marcfirst Vice President of Pediatric Services Christy Kosharek. "The impact of these funds has been incredibly beneficial to the children in our Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) Therapy Program, and we've seen great strides in socialization and engagement."

This grant has not only provided support to Marcfirst, but also the community we serve by allowing us to provide children with maladaptive behaviors the opportunity to increase their social skills and engagement as well as reduce elopement.

"Throughout the years, the grants given through Bayer Fund have helped strengthen our communities across the United States," said Al Mitchell, President of Bayer Fund. "We're proud to be able to provide support to develop programs like Marcfirst, which has been critical in providing support services to patients and families managing illness or disease."

In 2022, Bayer Fund awarded more than $13.4 million to over 2,700 charitable and nonprofit organizations to help address essential needs in Food and Nutrition, STEM Education, and Health and wellness. Over the last five years, nonprofit organizations across the U.S. have received more than $75 million.
