Marcfirst Supported Employment Program

Supported Employment Program (S.E.P.)

The goal of Supported Employment is to assist job seekers with intellectual and developmental disabilities attain and maintain a career of their choosing.

Services offered through Supported Employment:
  • Job Development: Through job development classes, job coaches support individuals in a number of key areas vital to the skills needed to search for, obtain and maintain employment. Job seekers are assisted with completing job applications, resume development, and interviewing skills.
  • Job Coaching: On-the-job training and support is provided to individuals at their places of employment by a job coach. Marcfirst provides lifelong job coaching meaning that those services are provided whenever they are needed.
Supported Employment Funding

People supported by Marcfirst SEP are required to be eligible for funding from either the Illinois Division of Rehabilitation Services (DRS) or the Illinois Department of Human Services. Marcfirst supports job seekers during the application process for these funding sources.

If you are already a registered with the DRS, you can request to be referred to Marcfirst through your DRS counselor.

Job seekers who are not registered with DRS will automatically be referred to DRS at the time of their Marcfirst intake.

The Supported employment Program is also funded with grants from United Way McLean County and the McLean County 377 Board.
