Developmental TRAINING

Developmental Training is a program offered to individuals with developmental disabilities to help them become more independent in their daily life. Individualized goals are established upon admission to meet each individual's wants and needs. This program is best suited to those with deficits in one or more of the following areas: motor development, dress and grooming, toileting, eating, or language. Supervision and training services are provided by certified Direct Support Professionals; nursing services on site.

The Developmental Training program is a curriculum based, group learning environment focused on three major goal areas: Adaptive Living Skills (personal care, communication), Professional Development (pre-vocational skills assessments and training), and Therapeutic Interventions (exercise classes, therapies recommended by OT/PT professionals). The program also provides opportunities for community outings to local venues in the Bloomington-Normal area. DT can also be a precursor to marcfirst's Supported Employment Program.
